The Hockey Play of My Day is a data driven self portrait style map of my full day that uses the structure of a hockey rink as a visual metaphor. I collected my personal data, including movement, energy levels, activities, and social interactions, and translated it into a large scale infographic map that reflects my schedule and my identity. The hockey rink becomes a way to visualize momentum and shifts throughout the day, connecting activities that are meaningful to how I move through time and space. I designed a custom set of icons to function as a legend that represent recurring activities and uses line weight to indicate changes in energy. The set of icons connect to both hockey and the activity it represents, creating even more cohesion. Color, layout, and hierarchy work together to guide the viewer through my day, like a hockey play unfolding on the ice.
